This is a great novel. It has a lighthearted tone, but all the while is very serious. It paints a beautiful image of New York City in the 1940's. I only have one very tiny nitpick: Chabon likes to finish his chapters with some sort of symbolism. After a while, it starts to feel a bit tired. Overall, I highly recommend this book.
