This story was first published in 1939, and it has aged extremely well. It is still easy to read, and is very powerful. There are parallels between this Great Depression story and the sweatshop exploitation of poor nations that happens today. This is my second time through this 500 page, heavy novel, and I breezed through it. Strongly recommended.
