I'm not a Stephen King fan, but this book is different. Unlike most of his "horror" books, The Gunslinger is a fantasy novel. I love the style and mystery of the story. This is the first book in his Dark Tower series, which was started in 1970 and was finally completed in 2003. I have read the first few books, but it was so long ago that I decided I needed to start at the beginning again. I strongly recommend the entire series. So far, they have been immensely entertaining.
